FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping & Delivery

How long will my order take to arrive?
UK orders typically arrive within 3–7 business days. For international orders our standard delivery aims are 3–7 working days to the European Union, 4–7 to Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein, and 6–10 to the United States, Canada and Mexico — plus 1–2 working days to process your order before it ships. You'll receive a tracking link by email once your order ships.

Is shipping really free?
Within the UK, yes — free standard delivery on every order, with no minimum spend. International orders are charged at checkout, and standard delivery is free on orders over £100. Your exact shipping cost is shown in your own currency before you pay.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes — to the 27 countries of the European Union, plus Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein, and to the United States, Canada and Mexico. All duties and import taxes are calculated and included in the price you pay at checkout, so there is nothing further to pay when your parcel arrives.

Can I track my order?
Yes. Once your order is dispatched, we'll email you a tracking number. You can also check your order status anytime by logging into your account on our website.

My tracking hasn't updated in a few days — should I worry?
Not usually. International shipments can sometimes show no movement for a few days while in transit between countries. If your tracking hasn't updated for more than 10 business days, get in touch with us and we'll investigate.

Orders & Payments

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, and PayPal.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
We process orders quickly, but if you reach out within a few hours of placing your order, we'll do our best to make changes. Email us at shop@bohomantra.com with your order number and we'll see what we can do.

I haven't received an order confirmation email — what should I do?
Check your spam or junk folder first. If it's not there, email us with your name and the email address you used at checkout, and we'll resend it.

Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! Our gift cards are available in a range of values and are delivered digitally — perfect for last-minute gifting. You can find them here.

Returns & Exchanges

What is your returns policy?
We offer a 30-day return window from the date you receive your order. Items must be unworn, undamaged, and returned in their original packaging. Once we receive your return, we'll process your refund within 14 days.

How do I start a return?
The quickest way is through your account — go to Returns & Cancellations, sign in with your order email, and select the item you'd like to send back. We'll review your request and email you the return instructions and address.

Prefer to do it by email? Just write to shop@bohomantra.com with your order number and the item(s) you'd like to return, and we'll take it from there.

Do you offer exchanges?
Yes — as a return and reorder, rather than a direct swap. We'd suggest placing a new order for the piece you'd like first, then returning the original through Returns & Cancellations — that way the item you want is on its way to you immediately, instead of waiting for your return to reach us. We'll refund the original within 14 days of receiving it. Sale items are final sale, so they can't be returned or exchanged unless they arrive damaged or faulty.

Who pays for return shipping?
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect — in which case we'll cover it.

Can I return sale items?
Sale items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged, unless they arrive damaged or faulty.

Sizing & Fit

What size are your clothing items?
Our clothing is cut free-size for body fit — the shapes are drawn to drape rather than to a dress size, and our kimonos fit UK 8–18 comfortably. Free size is about body fit, not length: several styles also come in a choice of length or dimension, which you pick on the product page. Kimonos come in Short, Mid and Long. Sarongs come in Medium and Large. Scarves are one size. Every product page lists the exact measurements for the option you're choosing.

Where can I find measurements?
Every product page lists dimensions in centimetres. For a more detailed guide with measuring tips, visit our Size & Fit Guide.

How do I know which ring size to choose?
Our rings come in standard UK sizes. If you're unsure of your size, we recommend measuring a ring you already own or using a printable ring sizer — we include guidance on each ring product page.

Do your bangles fit all wrist sizes?
Our bangles are available in standard sizes. Each listing states the inner diameter so you can check the fit before ordering. As a quick guide: measure the widest part of your hand (knuckles together) with a tape measure to find the minimum diameter you need.

Are your bangles and kada sold singly or as a pair?
Each bangle and kada is sold individually — one piece per item in your basket — unless a listing says otherwise. Kada are traditionally worn as a pair, one on each wrist, so most customers order two. Our boho brass bangles are lovely worn alone, and lovelier still stacked two or three deep. Add any two pieces from our Royal Bangles collection and 20% comes off automatically at checkout.

Materials & Quality

What materials are your jewellery pieces made from?
Our jewellery is handcrafted from solid brass, finished in several ways — left unplated, 18k gold plated, gold polished, or silver plated. Our Tibetan and Nepali pieces use Tibetan silver, a traditional Himalayan alloy. We also use natural gemstones, mother-of-pearl and freshwater pearl. Every product page lists exactly what that piece is made from and how it's finished.

Is your gold real gold?
Yes — on our plated and polished pieces, the gold is real gold applied over a solid brass base. What differs is how much. Our 18k gold-plated pieces carry a thicker, more durable layer. Our gold-polished pieces — mostly the Rajwadi kada — carry a finer layer that softens and warms with wear. We don't sell solid gold, and we never describe a piece as gold unless real gold has been applied to it. Where a piece is simply solid brass, we say so: the golden colour is the metal itself.

Is your silver real silver?
Our silver-plated pieces have a layer of real silver over solid brass — they aren't solid silver, and we don't describe them as such. Our Tibetan silver pieces are made from a traditional Himalayan alloy rather than sterling silver. We don't currently stock sterling silver (925). If that changes, we'll say so clearly on the product page.

Are your products nickel-free?
Our brass pieces — solid, gold-plated, gold-polished and silver-plated — are nickel-free. Our Tibetan silver pieces are a traditional alloy whose composition varies between artisan batches and may include nickel. If you have a nickel sensitivity, we'd suggest choosing from our brass pieces, and we're happy to help you find something — just email us.

Will my jewellery leave a green mark on my skin?
It can, occasionally. Brass contains copper, which can react with natural skin oils and leave a temporary green mark. It's harmless, washes off easily, and isn't an allergic reaction. It's more likely in warm weather or if lotion or perfume hasn't fully dried. Keeping your piece dry and wiping it with a soft cloth after wearing reduces it considerably.

How long will the plating last?
With good care, our 18k gold-plated pieces hold their colour for years. Gold-polished pieces carry a finer layer and will soften sooner, warming into an antique tone. Every applied finish wears eventually — the biggest factors are water, perfume and friction, so removing your jewellery before showering, swimming or exercise makes the most difference. See our Care Guide for the full routine.

Are the gemstones real?
Yes. We use genuine natural stones — including turquoise, lapis lazuli, moonstone, amethyst, and tiger's eye. Natural stones may vary slightly in colour and pattern, which is part of their beauty and a sign of authenticity.

What fabrics do you use for clothing and scarves?
Our clothing and scarves are made from natural and blended fabrics including cotton, viscose, and silk blends. Exact fabric composition is listed on each product page.

Are your clutches and bags made from real leather?
We offer a mix of genuine leather and vegan leather options. The material is specified on each product listing.

Product Care

How should I care for my jewellery?
Keep it dry — remove before showering, swimming, exercise and sleep. Let perfume, lotion and sunscreen dry fully before putting your jewellery on, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wearing. Store somewhere dry, ideally in the pouch it arrived in. Never use polishing cloths, silver dips, metal pastes or home remedies like lemon juice or bicarbonate of soda — on a plated or polished piece these remove the finish rather than clean it. For detailed guidance, visit our Care Guide.

How do I wash my kimono or sarong?
We recommend hand washing in cool water with a gentle detergent, then laying flat to dry. Avoid wringing or tumble drying. Some items may also be machine washed on a delicate cycle inside a laundry bag — check the care label on your specific item.

How should I care for my clutch or bag?
For leather pieces, wipe with a damp cloth and condition occasionally with a leather balm. For fabric bags, spot clean with a damp cloth. Store stuffed with tissue paper to maintain shape. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
